Vidyanjali
Vidyanjali, an initiative of Ministry of Education , is an online portal to facilitate volunteer contribution by alumni of educational institutions, serving and retired teachers, scientists, government/semi-government officials, retired armed forces personnel, self-employed and salaried professionals, homemakers, persons from any other organization by registering on the Vidyanjali portal.The interested volunteers can contribute either in the form of assets or material or can participate by sharing their knowledge and skills in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Introduction
Like other vidyalayas, PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Silchar invites volunteers and NGOs to contribute their expertise in various generic activities. These activities include yoga, sports, art and craft, mentoring gifted children, and career counseling classes. Additionally, the portal has published requirements for teaching-learning materials such as e-content and software under asset requirements. To ensure maximum participation and awareness, a committee was formed to oversee the publicity and implementation of this program. The members present included:

Committee Meeting
A meeting of the committee members was held on 24/4/2024 to discuss the strategies for promoting the Vidyanjali program.
The committee agreed on the following action points:
• To publish the requirements on the Vidyanjali portal.
• To give wide publicity to the program through various channels.
• To inform students during the morning assembly.
• To inform parents during the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM).
Publication of Requirements
The committee published the following requirements on the Vidyanjali portal:
• Yoga Instructors: To conduct yoga sessions and promote physical and mental well-being among students.
• Sports Coaches: To train students in various sports and encourage physical fitness.
• Art and Craft Experts: To conduct workshops and classes on art and craft, fostering creativity.
• Mentors for Gifted Children: To identify and mentor gifted students, providing them with the necessary guidance and support.
• Career Counselors: To offer career counseling sessions, helping students make informed career choices.
• Teaching-Learning Materials: To provide e-content and software that will enhance the learning experience and support the curriculum.
• Publicity Efforts
To ensure the program reached a wide audience, the committee undertook the following publicity efforts:
• Morning Assembly Announcement: The students were informed about the Vidyanjali program during the morning assembly. The announcement included details about the activities and the role of volunteers and NGOs.
• Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM): Parents were informed about the Vidyanjali program during the PTM. The committee provided an overview of the program and emphasized the importance of community involvement. Parents were encouraged to volunteer or suggest potential NGOs that could contribute.
• School Website and Social Media: Information about the program was also shared on the school website and social media platforms to reach a broader audience.

The Vidyanjali program offers an excellent opportunity for volunteers and NGOs to contribute to the holistic development of students. Through the concerted efforts of the committee and the enthusiastic participation of students and parents, we are confident that this initiative will greatly benefit our Vidyalaya.
